The antibody reacts with a 110-150 kDa cell-surface protein present on most thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes, but not on all B lymphocytes, the majority of T lymphocytes expressing TCR, NK cells, monocytes, or granulocytes.

Specificity |
The antibody reacts with a 120 kDa single chain membrane glycoprotein specific for the CD6 antigen. The antigen is found on >80% normal mature T cells and a sub-population of B cells in peripheral blood. The antigen also exhibits weak expression on cortical thymocytes and the majority of chronic B lymphocytic leukaemias |
