This antibody reacts with the CD7 antigen, a 40kDa polypeptide. This is the earliest marker antigen expressed in the T cell lineage and is found on T cell precursors in fetal liver and thorax prior to thymic colonization and in bone marrow and the thymus. It is also to be found on a small subpopulation of normal B cells and on malignant B cells. |
