50Kd MW lymphocyte surface antigen identified by monoclonal antibodies belonging to the CD2 cluster. The antigen is expressed on all peripheral blood T lymphocytes, majority of thymocytes and malignant cells of T cell origin, including T- ALL cells. Normal B lymphocytes, monocytes or granulocytes do not express surface CD2 antigen. Common ALL cells do not express CD2 antigen. |
