Product Name | Histone Deacetylase 5 (HDAC5) (AA 657-1122) protein (His tag) |
Description | HDAC5 is a member of the histone deacetylase family. It is responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4). Histone deacetylation gives a tag for epigenetic repression and plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events. Histone deacetylases act via the formation of large multiprotein complexes. HDAC5 possesses histone deacetylase activity and represses transcription when tethered to a promoter. It coimmunoprecipitates only with HDAC3 family member and might form multicomplex proteins. It also interacts with myocyte enhancer factor-2 (MEF2) proteins, resulting in repression of MEF2-dependent genes.Recombinant human HDAC5 with His tag produced in Sf9 Cell is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 476 amino acids. A fully biologically active molecule, HDAC5 has a molecular mass of 52.2 kDa analyzed by reducing SDS-PAGE. Synonyms: HD5, NY-CO-9 |
