Dermaseptins adopt a largely K-helical conformation when binding to membranes. Like other antimicrobial peptides;dermaseptin is membrane-perturbing;however;unlike other antimicrobial peptides;dermaseptin rests on the surface of the bacterial membrane and does not insert. |
