| Description | Purity >99% by HPLC. A potent, selective NO-independent soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) activator, that increases the activity of sGC dose-dependently (from 0.1 nM to 100 µM) up to 92-fold. BAY 41-8543 relaxes vessels and inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro at nM concentrations. In vivo, it decreases blood pressure dose-dependently, prolongs bleeding time and reduces thrombosis. It increases pulmonary vasodilation without changing mean arterial pressure, suggesting that sGC agonists may be useful in treating Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH).
