| Description | Purity >98% by HPLC. A potent and selective aminopeptidase P (APP) inhibitor (Ki = 2.6 µM; purified rat lung membrane-bound APP). It blocks the APP-mediated degradation of bradykinin but does not inhibit ACE or other known bradykinin-degrading enzymes. Degradation of bradykinin was almost completely blocked in rats perfused with 40 µM apstatin along with an ACE inhibitor. Limits myocardial infarct size alone or with ACE inhibitors. |
