| Description | This polyclonal antibody is directed against human IgG1 and is affinity purified and conjugated to peroxidase. Cross reactivity with other animal sera has not been tested. Anti-Human IgG1 generated in sheep detects human Immunoglobulin IgG1. Human IgG is composed of four peptide chains - two heavy chains gamma and two light chains held together by disulfide bonds. The resulting Y structure has two identical halves which at the end of each end contains an identical antigen binding site. The Fc regions of IgGs bear a highly conserved N-glycosylation site. IgG affinity to the Fc receptors is specific to the host as well as class. Humans have 4 subclasses (IgG1, 2, 3, 4) present in serum, with IgG1 being most abundant and has the highest affinity to the Fc receptor. Secondary Antibodies are available in a variety of formats and conjugate types. When choosing a secondary antibody product, consideration must be given to species and immunoglobulin specificity, conjugate type, fragment and chain specificity, level of cross-reactivity, and host-species source and fragment composition.
