| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE). Human complement C5a is a 74aa glycopeptide generated during complement activation from the alpha-chain of complement C5. C5a is a potent chemotactic factor for human peripheral blood neutrophils and monocytes, and is believed to play an important role in a number of inflammatory conditions. The 74aa, human C5a protein expressed in E. coli has an activity similar to that of serum derived C5a based on enzyme assay of myeloperoxidase release.
