| Description | Purity ~95% (SDS-PAGE). Human complement C5a is a 74aa glycopeptide generated during complement activation from the a-chain of complement C5. C5a is a potent chemotactic factor for human peripheral blood neutrophils and monocytes, and is believed to play an important role in a number of inflammatory conditions. The recombinant protein is not further processed to remove the additional sequence. Recombinant C5a has an activity similar to that of serum derived C5a based on enzyme assay of myeloperoxidase release. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to 74aa from human Complement C5a, with a 6aa, N-terminal His-tag sequence and 28aa proprietary vector sequence necessary for expression, expressed in E. coli.
