Besides its intracellular functions, Cyclophilin A is a secreted molecule that has a physiological and pathological role in cardiovascular diseases, making it a potential biomarker and mediator in cardiovascular diseases, such as vascular stenosis, atherosclerosis, and abdominal aortic aneurysms.
