| Description | CD4 Monoclonal Antibody (RM4-5), Qdot 605. The CD4 antigen is expressed on the majority of normal thymocytes and on the MHC class II restricted subset of mature T cells, including T helper cells, and is involved in the recognition of the type II MHC antigen. As a co-receptor in the TCR complex, CD4 is involved in T cell activation through interaction with MHC class II on antigen presenting cells and in signal transduction via the cytoplasmic portion of CD4 through protein tyrosine kinase p56lck. It is also a receptor for HIV. CD4 expression is commonly found in human lymph nodes and tonsils.
