| Description | COL4A3 Polyclonal Antibody. Collagens are highly conserved and are characterized by an uninterrupted Glycine-X-Y triplet repeat. Col1, the fibrillar collagen found in most connective tissues, is the only component of the collagen found in cartilage. Mutations in this gene are associated with osteogenesis imperfecta, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and idiopathic osteoporosis. Col2, a fibrillar collagen found in cartilage and the vitreous humor of the eye. Mutations in this gene are associated with achondrogenesis, chondrodysplasia, early onset familial osteoarthritis, SED congenita, Langer-Saldino achondrogenesis, Kniest dysplasia.
