It has been shown recently as the first inhibitor of the lysine-specific histone methyltransferase. It is specific for the methyltransferase SU(VAR)3-9 both in vitro (IC50 = 0.6 -0.8 µM) and in vivo and may therefore be used to study heterochromatin-mediated gene repression. |
