| Description | IL2 protein.IL-2 is only produced by activated T-cells, especially theCD4 T cellshelper cell population, although CD8+ Tcytotoxiccells can be stimulated in vitro to produce IL-2.It is a potent immunomodulator, and has an importantrole in both the activation and maintenance of an immuneresponse and in lymphocyte development. Interleukin-2serves to activate numerous key cells in the immunesystem, including helper T cells, cytotoxic T cells, Blymphocytes, natural killer cells, tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and macrophage-monocyte cells.Recombinant human IL-2 produced in E. coli is a single,non-glycosylated form of human IL-2 polypeptide chaincontaining 134 amino acids and having a molecularmass of 15.52 kDa.Our IL-2 has an Ser substitute for Cysteine at position126.
