| Description | Purity >98%. LBQ657 is an inhibitor of neprilysin, a zinc metallopeptidase that degrades a variety of vasoactive peptides such as atrial and brain natriuretic peptide, bradykinin, adrenomedullin, and endothelin-1. Inhibition of neprilysin leads to an increased level of these peptides and, thus, antihypertensive effects. LBQ657 can be produced in vivo via the metabolism of the prodrug sacubitril. Sacubitril has been combined with the angiotensin receptor blocker valsartan in the clinical treatment of hypertension and heart failure. |
