Deficiency of lysosomal sulfatases leads to human diseases characterized by the accumulation of either GAGs (glycosaminoglycans) or sulfolipids. Sulfamidase, also known as HSS, SFMD, MPS3A or SGSH, is a 502 amino acid lysosome that belongs to the sulfatase family.
