| Description | Purity >97% by HPLC. The endogenous octapeptide Ang II binds to both the AT1 and AT2 receptors. Ang II interaction with the AT1 receptor results in strong vasoactive effects, the stimulation of aldosterone synthesis and the elevation of blood pressure via direct vasoconstriction of arteriole smooth muscles. Ang II can be metabolized by aminopeptidase into angiotensin III (Ang 2-8) and angiotensin IV (Ang 3-8). |
