| Description | Purity >98%. Tyramine is a naturally-occurring monoamine derived from tyrosine that is produced endogenously or can be obtained from certain foods. It is a trace amine that activates trace amine-associated receptor 1 (EC50 s = 0.08, 0.69, and 2.26 µM for rat, mouse, and human-rat chimera receptors, respectively). Tyramine also inhibits the release of norepinephrine and dopamine (IC50 s = 40.6 and 119 nM, respectively). It is metabolized by monoamine oxidase A. |
